As promised, a photo dump of pictures I snapped at the show. There were lots more games, some not very photogenic; these are just games I found interesting for one reason or another.
VBCW
Boondock Sayntes - Fords of Isen
Midgard Troy in 1:300
French & Indian War - Derby raid on a native American village (needed more trees IMHO)
My personal favourite - To The Strongest Glorantha / Runequest - Battle of the Horn Gate Prax (no apologies for number of photos)
The Crimson Bat!
Chaos waiting in the wings....
A very cluttered 10mm League of Augsburg game
Peter Dennis paperboys Egyptian v Hittite
WW1 Zero Hour
Fitzaubrey Last Hurrah
The Bunker Shaun of the Dead
My mates from the Tyneside club - Death on the Nile scratchbuilt 10mm Egyptian and Sea People galleys
A Small table game - Deathship?
An Italian Wars game using an adaptation of Fire & Fury ACW rules
Lots of other games that were either too busy to get near or not very photogenic IMHO .
Had a long chat with people from the Tyneside group and a shorter one with Simon Millar and Ian Notter with the Glorantha TSS game.
Some good looking games on show, the Runequest one looks really good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie, it was one of the more interesting games.
DeleteIt's been on my "must do" list for a while now, even since seeing the Glorygeeks HOTT versions.
I have the miniatures, just not the time....
I spent some time talking to Simon and Ian about TTS Glorantha adaptations and model antelopes / sables...

For some reason the Fornovo game really caught my eye. I spent some time watching the Peter Dennis game too, the flat figures are very appealing.
ReplyDeleteMartin, I didn't realise it was Fornovo.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went across to take photos, the bloke running it was talking to someone about how he was using an adaptation of Fire & Fury.
It struck me that it would probably take a lot of adapting and I thought it was odd given the number of Italian Wars and Renaissance rules available; as much as I used to like F&F, it seemed on odd choice as a starting point.
The Peter Dennis game was impressive, but hard to photograph!

nice pics, I enjoyed seeing them. 😁
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew. Didn't see any Quar......☺

Some nice looking games there Neil. The LOA game appeals to me because the terrain is very 'attainable'.
ReplyDeleteChris, yes very functional, only spoilt by the amount of "clutter" they had on the table.
DeleteI also thought they would have been better on a smaller table as the forces just spread out more, rather than forming battle lines. All the paraphernalia could have been on the unused bit.
It also contributed to the figures being a little "lost" and not standing out.
