Here's a selection of a few of the other games I snapped on the day.
Samurai castles featured...
Shrewsbury - Rampant Lions Questionable Honour
Iron Brigade Assault on Kawajima castle
The Bunker - Wild Geese Africa (based on the film?)
Like a Stonewall group - Cape Finisterre 1805
Harrogate club Walk this Hue Vietnam 1968
Steve Jones AWI
League of Augsburg
Simon Millar War Spanish Succession
1st Corps Magnesia
In other news, progress on Caesar in Gaul continues slowly - nine cavalry elements await basing and more eBay rescues are in the storage boxes but further painting has been brought to a stop due to unseasonable heat wave here in the UK - with temperatures in the 30s, the paint dries too quickly even with a wet palette. More bits have been cleaned and primed. Still have not tackled the ships and got distracted by researching the colour of Roman ox carts!
SUPERB Pictures! Very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteThanks Darren. There was a tremendous amount of eye candy on offer - too much in fact- after working through about 50% of the tables, the fatigue kicked in!
DeleteWhat's annoying is I had a lot more pics from one of the games shown in part one, but blurry and out of focus from the way I had to take them.
Neil
More cracking looking games Neil, lots of really inspirational stuff on show. Hot weather not been a problem up in the frozen wastes, only about 17 here but it did mean I got some figures primed yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie. There were many more, but I've concluded that you can't cover them all unless it's your full time job!
DeleteLast two days have been in the 30s droping to teens / twenties at night - just too hot!
Neil
Great pictures. Pleased to hear the Gallic wars are moving forward inspite of the unseasonably hot weather.
ReplyDeleteAlan Tradgardland
Thanks Alan. I may be overpreparing for Caesar's wars but its a good way to get stuff done, including things like baggage.

More great looking games
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil. Partizan does attract some very photogenic games.

It is a good job Partisan wasn't this weekend, everyone would have died of heatstroke!
ReplyDeleteMartin, given the crowds on entry, they would still have been standing upright! ☺
DeleteAs it was the "thermal comfort" soon became compromised but they didn't open the big hanger doors until the afternoon, when it was very hot and stuffy. I dread to think what it would be like in the 30s!
Neil
Some very inspirational tabletops in your selection of photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter. The first Samurai game apparently took two years and the SYW game in the first report took two and a half years of work. Others seem more achievable, such as the Minden game.

Just popped by to say that I have taken receipt of your Austrian Succession book. Muchas gracias amigo!
ReplyDeleteChris/Nundanket
PS love the pics of the Cape Finisterre game!
Thanks Chris. You are welcome. No rush for return.

Great pictures. I like the Africa and Hue games especially. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Trev. The africa game was difficult to capture as the table was huge! Sort of lots of vignettes scattered across it. The Hue table was just a mass of detail on a very small table.
